About the library

Meanders is a cinematic sound palette built around solo cello, shruti box and synth textures, created in collaboration with cellist Meera Priyanka Raja.

Featuring over 30 recorded articulations, Meanders dances between note centres with delicate performances that feel alive and expressive.

4 sound banks allow for effortless layering, while over 20 mic positions capture every nuance in detail.

Meanders also features a live-tracked Leslie cabinet, H910 Harmonizer and processed sub mic for expansive, cinematic colouration. Meanders lives in a sound world that breathes, shifts and unsettles in the most beautiful way.

Dan and Meera's friendship spans 15 years, back to their days as students at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. Meanders grew out of Meera's long search for a sound that reflected her own voice beyond genre, a search that led her to layering cello, shruti box and improvisation as a way of building her own sonic landscape.

Over three days at Konk Studios, Dan and Meera recorded that world in detail, capturing textures like the Oscillating Octaves and Sliding Harmonics that are nearly impossible to recreate live. Combine static drones with the more adventurous glissandi or major and minor ricochets, and Meanders becomes a go-to musical springboard.

Just like Poet's Piano, Meanders was recorded at Konk Studios through a vintage signal path, including the H910 Harmonizer.

Our first Established Collaboration

British-Indian cellist and composer Meera Priyanka Raja enjoys a busy career as a freelancer, performing in major venues worldwide and recording for film and TV scores, including the award-winning short film Aajao and the album Essence of Raga Tala.

Inspired by John Mayer's cello works Prabhanda and Ragamalas, Meera began improvising over musical drones, and her genre-defying soundscapes now invite listeners into a reflective, meditative state.

A note from Meera about Meanders: “Meanders as a concept came to light after many discussions about me finding my identity with my cello improvisations. Layering sounds with textural nuances helps to create a sonic landscape that lends itself to a freedom of expression. We had a lot of fun experimenting and creating Meanders — it's a really exciting and innovative product.”
